Immersion Retreats in Italy

In Verona, I offer private one-on-one immersion retreats for writers and actors seeking concentrated time to develop their work.

These retreats are designed as an individualized creative residency – part mentorship, part intensive – shaped around the participant's project, artistic questions, and working process.

Overview

These private immersion retreats unfold in a city long associated with theatre, literature, history, and place. Over five days, participants step away from ordinary routines to concentrate deeply on a particular piece of work, question, or creative investigation.

Who This is For

• Writers working on memoirs, essays, novels, screenplays, or hybrid forms
• Actors seeking concentrated work on text, character, scene study, or a particular role
• Artists developing a specific creative project or body of work
• Individuals who work best in an intensive one-on-one setting

You do not need to arrive with a completed project. The retreat can be structured around developing new work, deepening existing work, or exploring the artistic questions from which new work may emerge.

Structure of the Retreat

Duration: 5 consecutive days, 4-6 hours per day
Format: One-on-one
Location: Verona, Italy (with excursions to surrounding regions)

Each day includes:

• A guided morning session focused on the participant's work
• Individual work time - writing, rehearsal, research, or preparation
• Afternoon mentoring, close reading, scene work, or creative investigation
• Time for independent work and place-based exploration

The structure remains flexible and responsive, allowing the work to unfold organically.

Parallel Private Immersion Option

On occasion, two friends or colleagues may book private immersion retreats during the same week. Each participant engages in a fully private, one-on-one retreat experience.

• Pricing remains the same as the solo immersion rate
• This option is limited to a maximum of two participants
• There are no shared sessions or group processes

Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 immersions are now booking. A limited number of spaces are available.

Tuition & Payment
• European Union (EUR): €2,500
• United States / International (USD): $3,000

A non-refundable deposit is due at registration
• EUR deposit: €1,000
• USD deposit: $1,000

The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the retreat start date.

Tuition includes all private sessions and retreat programming. 

Accommodations, travel, and meals are not included, allowing participants flexibility in choosing lodging that best suits their needs.

Scheduling & Availability

Private immersion retreats are scheduled by arrangement and offered on a limited basis each year.
