Each coaching session offers personalized guidance and instruction tailored to the individual actor’s needs and goals. It is a collaborative process aimed at helping the actor develop their skills, deepen their understanding of the craft, and achieve their artistic goals. It provides individualized attention, support, and guidance.
1. Warm-Up and Preparation:
The actor is led through a series of warm-up exercises, which include relaxation techniques to help the actor become fully present and focused.
2. Script Analysis and Character Development:
The actor works on a specific scene or monologue.
We explore the character’s backstory, emotional journey, and key moments in the scene to bring depth and authenticity to the performance.
3. Technique and Skill Development:
Guidance on acting techniques and skills is provided and tailored to the actor's individual needs. This includes instruction on emotional preparation, physicality, improvisation, and presence.
4. Performance and Feedback:
The actor performs the scene or monologue and receives insights, suggestions, and adjustments to help improve the performance. This involves exploring different choices, experimenting with new approaches and refining the actor’s interpretation of the material.
5. Goal Setting and Homework:
At the end of the session, we discuss goals for future sessions and areas to focus on for improvement. Homework may be assigned, such as practicing specific techniques, memorizing lines, and watching performances for inspiration, to help the actor continue their artistic growth between sessions.
Actors are crafted storytellers.
Actors use their craft to express the complexities of what we call the human condition.
However, an actor needs much more than craft. An actor needs empathy.
I have found that it can be difficult to teach empathy.
But I have also found that through encouraging actors to look at others’ lives, their triumphs and their struggles, empathy can be cultivated.
Through this new way of seeing, I’ve witnessed actors make that courageous leap from egocentrism to altruism. It is an embodied experiential leap, not a theoretical leap.
When this happens, an actor’s work is forever changed.

Begin your acting journey with a complimentary consultation to discuss your goals, or dive straight into a tailored one-on-one coaching session, designed to enhance your skills and performance. Ideal for both newcomers and experienced actors.
